Acrylic / Plexiglass

Most often the materials are supposed from the body without problems, boasts a high compatibility and can be treated so they glow under UV light.

Piercing jewellery made of Acrylic or plexiglass has tiny pores, in those bodily fluids and skin segregations can accumulate. So it is vast important to clean the jewellery regularly and thoroughly, to prevent unpleasant smell and especially irritations of the skin. That´s why Acrylic and plexiglass aren´t suitable for an application in a recent stitched and  a sore canaliculus.

You should avoid the cleaning/sterilisation with steam pressure, because otherwise the colour can changes or gets lost completely. The very fragile material can cracks due to more intense strain or too high pressure, which can results in injuries of the canaliculus and the surrounding section of the skin.
