The Tragus-Piercing is in the cartilage directly before the auditory canal.
Instead of the elemantary stitch you should prefer the manner of punching. Thereby the redundant cartilage is removed out of the piercing-canaliculus by using a hypodermic needle. The pressure pain is reduced thereby distinctly and the piercing heals quicker.
The healing takes about 3 to 6 months by stitch the piercing and 2 to 4 weeks by punching.
For piercing jewellery a ball closure ring (BCR) or a labret stud could be suited.
Vertical Tragus
For alternative to the „normal“ Tragus piercing you also can stitch these piercing vertical through the cartilage (vertical tragus). Then this is adorned with a banana barbell.
Some also prefer the variety of a surface piercing next to the tragus. This also is stitched vertical, certainly not directly through the cartilage but besides.
