Piercing: healing and aftercare
Important: By complications or inflammations always seek medical advice!
General care instructions:
Don´t take any blood diluted medicines (e.g. aspirin), because they influence the healing negative. Also you absolutely should waive on alcohol and nicotine before your visit in a piercing studio.
The recent piercing should be cleaned from 2 to 3 times everyday until it´s completely healed.
At best to this you use always warmish water or a saline solution to release the wound of debris and germs. After the outer cleaning the piercing location respectively the canaliculus should be disinfected. To this you can spray the canaliculus or the piercing jewellery itself with disinfection spray.
Never you should use alcohol for cleaning the piercing part, because alcohol irritates the skin and the healing process is delayed.
During the healing time you should waive on swimming baths, saunas or solarium.
Also after the piercing is healed you should keep on a thoroughly care hygiene. The piercing jewellery and the piercing part itself must be cleaned regularly. If the healing goes well, after a few weeks the piercing can be removed and thoroughly be cleaned. Certainly you shouldn´t wait too long to apply the jewellery again, because otherwise the piercing part could accretes.
Special precautions you should especially consider by these piercings:
Navel piercing: Consider by your navel piercing that you choose convenient clothing, which doesn´t push or rub at the piercing part (e.g. belts, ...).
Genital piercing: By a genital piercing you should waive on any sexual activities during the healing time.
Tongue piercing: By a recent tongue piercing the tongue initially swells intense. The sucking of icecubes can produces relief and supports the healing relative quickly (and in a pleasant way). During the first days you should especially waive on alcohol, tobacco and milk, but also on very hot drinks or spicy dishes.
For the care in the oral location a douche or a solution to burbling is recommend.
