The septum piercing is stitched at the lower end of the nasal septum through the local tissue of skin and cartilage.

Because this part is very uneven it´s difficult to stitch this piercing straight. The pain is at least if the canaliculus only runs through the thin membrane of the nasal septum so that no cartilage is encountered. Attention should be paid to the hygiene during a cold or the sniffles.

The healing takes 2 to 3 months.

For initial inset a ball closure ring (BCR) or circular barbell is advisable. For an eventual strain of the piercing you should take care of the permanent deformation of the cartilage.
